The rules and guidelines for using Mocksy.

Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Mocksy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the service.

Key point: Mocksy is designed for generating mock test data only. It is not intended for storing or processing real customer data or production information.

Who Can Use Mocksy

You may use Mocksy if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Have the authority to enter into this agreement
  • Comply with all applicable laws
  • Use the service for legitimate testing and development purposes

Acceptable Use

When using Mocksy, you agree NOT to:

  • Upload or store real personal data or production customer information
  • Use the service in production systems or for live customer-facing applications
  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the service
  • Use the service to send spam or malicious content
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Resell or redistribute the service without permission
Remember: Mocksy generates mock data for testing. Never use it to store real customer information, payment details, or sensitive personal data. Mocksy is not designed for production use.

Your Account

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access
  • Ensuring your team members comply with these terms

You may not share your account with others outside your organisation or allow unauthorised access to your API keys.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Mocksy available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted access to the service
  • Error-free operation
  • That the service will meet your specific requirements

We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the service at any time. We'll try to notify you of planned downtime when possible. Mocksy does not currently offer a formal service level agreement (SLA).

Plans and Pricing

Mocksy offers different pricing plans with varying limits on customers, SKUs, orders, and features. See our Pricing page for current plans.

We reserve the right to:

  • Change pricing and plan limits with reasonable notice
  • Enforce usage limits if exceeded
  • Offer promotional pricing or trials

If you exceed your plan limits, we may restrict access until you upgrade or reduce usage. We will not charge surprise fees.

Payment and Billing

For paid plans (when billing is active):

  • You agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan
  • Payments are processed through a third-party payment provider
  • Fees are non-refundable except as required by law
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time

If payment fails, we may suspend your account until payment is received.

Data Ownership

You own the mock data you generate using Mocksy. We do not claim ownership of your generated customers, SKUs, or orders.

We retain the right to use aggregated, anonymised usage data to improve the service.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the web interface.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these terms
  • Use the service fraudulently or illegally
  • Fail to pay for a paid plan
  • Engage in abusive behaviour

Upon termination, your access will be revoked and your data will be deleted after a reasonable retention period.

Warranties and Disclaimers

Mocksy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • The mock data will meet your specific needs
  • Any bugs or issues will be corrected
  • The service is suitable for production use
Important: Mocksy is designed for testing and development only. Do not use it for production systems or critical workflows.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mocksy and its operators shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or data loss
  • Third-party actions or content

Our total liability, where permitted by law, shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or through the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
